Your cat's safety comes first. Please read this guide before putting the collar on for the first time, and keep it for reference.

The breakaway buckle

The cat-face buckle is a breakaway (safety) buckle. It is designed to pop open under strain, for example if the collar catches on a branch or fence, so your cat can free itself. Never replace it with a non-breakaway buckle, and never tie or glue it closed. If the buckle stops releasing or becomes loose, stop using the collar.

Getting the fit right

  • The collar adjusts to fit necks from 23 to 33 cm.
  • You should be able to slide two fingers flat between the collar and your cat's neck. Too loose and a paw or jaw can get caught; too tight and it can rub.
  • Check the fit every week, and more often for growing kittens.

Charms

  • Before each wear, check that every charm is pushed fully into its hole and feels secure.
  • Remove any charm that is loose, bent, chewed or damaged.
  • Only use charms in the holes provided. Do not make extra holes or enlarge them.
  • Small parts warning: charms are small and could be swallowed. Store spare charms out of reach of pets and young children.
  • If your cat chews at the charms, remove them and use the collar without charms.

First few days

Let your cat wear the collar while you are around for the first few days so you can check it is comfortable and that nothing catches on furniture or toys.

Wear and care

  • Inspect the collar regularly, especially around the punched holes and the buckle. Replace it if the strap is split, torn or worn.
  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap and let it dry before use. Do not machine wash.
  • Remove the collar if you notice any redness, hair loss or skin irritation, and ask your vet for advice.
  • The bell can be removed if your cat dislikes it.

  • This is a pet accessory, not a toy, and is for cats only.
  • It is not a lead attachment: never attach a lead to this collar or use it to restrain your cat.
  • Not suitable for kittens under 12 weeks old.
